Boston Tall Ships Celebration

17 Jul

I recently was on a boat in boston for the tall ships celebration. It was absolutely gorgeous and I got an unreasonable amount of photos. Not to worry though, I’ll pick just the best for you all to see 😉

I think they all came out lovely but keep in mind they were all taken with an iPhone too!

Never Lose Your Hat Part 2.

17 Jul

As promised here are the rest of the pictures from the “never lose your hat set’.
I had a lot of fun doing this series and LOVE the way all the photos came out.
A friend of mine even went as far as to say that the photographer really captured my “essence” haha.
I’ve been thinking a lot about doing more modeling, its definitely a fun way to pass the time.

Anyways I have a lot to share with everyone about my business, crafts, dog and life.
Right now, I’ll just share these with you though and hope you enjoy them.
If you do don’t hesitate to check out the photographers Facebook page and give him a like.

Never Lose your hat!

10 Jul

Over the Weekend a friend of mine who also happened to be a photographer invited me over to model for a series he’s working on.

I jumped at the opportunity, of coarse! Lately I’ve been working really hard but my work is all scattered. Theres some sewing, some writing, some practicing guitar, and UKE!, some yoga, and a lot of actual work as a waitress on a lunch cruz called the harbor Queen.

I’ll write about all of these things at some point in the near future.

I haven’t had much time to post or update my Etsy for that matter, but here I am, hoping some people still care! 🙂

I have a few things to write about, that I’ll release within the next couple of weeks. One is about the trip I took Bonnaroo this summer, that some of you may find interesting.

Here are just a few of the lovely pictures my friend Heath Pettine is responsible for.

I Personally named the series ‘Never lose your hat’ It’s a play on the the phrase from the hitchhikers guid to the galaxy series.

Never lose your towel!

Everyone say hello to my sweetheart Juno.
This past week, w’ve been blessed with the most beautiful weather, so naturally I spent as much time outside with my dog friend as possible.
She had a blast and was wiped out every night, I can tell summers going to be a good time..I can’t wait!

I’ve been working on a custom baby bag recently that came out beautifully so far, Im just having a little trouble with an iron on transfer print.
Does anybody know anything about that?

I have a few ideas for back packs too, I wish I had more time!

Look What I found Part II!

I went Treasure hunting this past weekend and found a few very interesting things that I wanted to share with you guys!
I also listed them on Etsy, if you’re interested in buying in any of them.

Weird Science.

So, my hair is accustomed to a fair amount of abuse. Through out the years I have relentlessly straightened, curled, and colored my hair. The past few months I’ve been bleaching my hair and the outcome of it is fried & broken hair.
I wanted to color treat my hair but didn’t quite want to inflict anymore chemical warfare on on my head again. I came across henna hair dye at this handmade soap store named ‘Plush’ in the providence place mall, it looked like a chocolate bar!
Henna hair dye is a little pricey but if you have the money, worth it.
The dying process is a little bit of a pain in the ass, but it’s not so bad.
The dye itself feels like mud it’s kind of neat.
My only disappointment with the dye was the fact that once mixed it looked like diarrhea! haha but I put my big girl pants on and quickly moved past that.

In order for the dye to work you have to keep it in your hair over night, and the outcome of the color is somewhat of a mystery so I really went through with this all on good faith.
I bought red dye, melted it and mixed it with water, ground peppers, paprika, sazon, cayenne pepper and chili powder too help intensify the color.
The woman at plush said to leave it in as LONG as possible, that meant like two days..I left it in for 18 hours. The color came out relatively well, although I wish I didn’t skimp on the time now. I wonder how bad ass the color would be if I had been patient and left it in for 48 hours.

Here are some pictures of the dye mixed, the mix in my hair and the outcome.
