Never Lose your hat!

10 Jul

Over the Weekend a friend of mine who also happened to be a photographer invited me over to model for a series he’s working on.

I jumped at the opportunity, of coarse! Lately I’ve been working really hard but my work is all scattered. Theres some sewing, some writing, some practicing guitar, and UKE!, some yoga, and a lot of actual work as a waitress on a lunch cruz called the harbor Queen.

I’ll write about all of these things at some point in the near future.

I haven’t had much time to post or update my Etsy for that matter, but here I am, hoping some people still care! 🙂

I have a few things to write about, that I’ll release within the next couple of weeks. One is about the trip I took Bonnaroo this summer, that some of you may find interesting.

Here are just a few of the lovely pictures my friend Heath Pettine is responsible for.

I Personally named the series ‘Never lose your hat’ It’s a play on the the phrase from the hitchhikers guid to the galaxy series.

Never lose your towel!

Crafts for CHRIMBUS!

25 Dec

and now for my daily craft and blog post 😉
I woke this morning and got right back to my crafting roots. Back when I was just a wee little thing I did a lot of gluing and cutting of paper and cardboard..it was all very amateur lol, this morning I made a little shadow box thing just for a hell of it. it didn’t come out great, but its definitely cute :], heres a picture.

A few more pictures of things Ive recently made!

I’m especially proud of the tie clips I made, then theres the pretty fabric I Printed and the cool salt and pepper shakers. The shark appliqué is actually part of a wallet someone special ordered.
what do you think?

I like to make things pretty

21 Dec

I like to make things my own. I go to thrift stores and live off of finding anything I can transform.
I think thats why I love fabric so much too (admittedly a fabric addict).
right now I want to show you some of my transformations :].
whether it be with decoupage, ceramic markers (ILOVECERAMIC MARKERS) or fabric.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

some of these pictures aren’t the best because they were taken with me phone :p

Tonight I tried potato stamping..

19 Dec

And it was so much fun! My first attempt was a simple triangle design which came out as well as I expected it too..which was bad…and an anchor..which came out okay for a first attempt but not great. After Ironing all my designs out I tried again, this time I carved an elephant and it actually came out pretty damn good.
I printed my pretty little elephant on 4 by 7 pieces of fabric to eventually make pouches out of. Have I mentioned how excited this makes me?

I’m kind of sort of trying to get as much creating in as possible before I get another job, because I know once I do I won’t have the time I have now to experiment and learn. I’ve been unemployed for a little while now and luckily I have a supportive group of family and friends (and boyfriend)but having extra cash was something I definitely took for granted..this week its crunch time..I will find a job or at least a strong potential, I know a lot go employers like to wait till after the holidays. I do keep having this fantasy where my business picks up and I can just create beautiful things for beautiful people all instead of, well..anything else haha..someday.

Tonight I also dropped by a local tattoo studio called mom & pops. This place is everything a tattoo studio should be, the walls are plastered with local art, the people hanging out there are all artists in some form, its one of the little places in this city (Fall River) that keep it alive.

Pretty Prints.

So my move is finally almost complete! my studio is set up. I’ve been experimenting with printing on fabric with speedball ink, toilet paper rolls, some weird plastic sheet or circles, cardboard, and rolled up fabric  so far the results are pretty awesome!  I want to invest in some stamp making tools soon though, posted are some pictures.  Be with you all soon!
